Objectives:

To learn how to analyze and interpret data given

To create a report and make organizational decisions based on data given

Deliverables:

Powerpoint Presentation report

Excel Spreadsheet with the data in pivot table

Task 1: Determine which branch has high and low sales for Company XYZ (Monthly for 2014)

  1. Open the first spreadsheet. 1
  2. Determine the number of data and the parameter fields to be examined.
  3. Based on the given data, determine the number of branches of the company.
  4. Which branches are not in Metro Manila?
  5. How much is total yearly sales of the company?
  6. Which branch has the highest amount of sales? How much?
  7. Which branch has the lowest amount of sales? How much?
  8. Based on the given data, what is your forecast next year? Which branch will yield the highest sales? The branch that will yield the lowest? Why?
  9. Which 3 branches will you recommend to close should the company opt to do a reorganization based on total sales?
  10. Create a chart showing the total sales of each branch per month.

Note: Place your results in a Powerpoint slide for Tasks 2-10 (1 slide per task), and save as Task1(LastnamesOfMembers).ppt and send to justinp@apc.edu.ph

Task 2: Determine the information about your customers

  1. Open the second spreadsheet. 2
  2. Determine the number of data and the parameter fields to be examined.
  3. Based on the given data, determine how many customers are male and female.
  4. How many customers have an Advantage Card?
  5. How many customers that have an Advantage Card are male and female?
  6. How many customers are from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao?
  7. How much is the sales for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
  8. Create a chart showing the total sales in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with the gender as qualifier.
