Course Description – Module 1: Cybersecurity Fundamentals
This module provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts, principles, and practices of cybersecurity. It explores the modern cyber threat landscape, common attack techniques, cybersecurity terminology, and the core security principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA). Participants will gain an understanding of how cyber risks affect individuals and organizations, the importance of governance and risk management, and the foundational security controls used to protect information assets. Through practical examples, real-world case studies, and interactive discussions, the course establishes the knowledge and mindset necessary for succeeding in subsequent modules of the Executive Diploma Program in Cybersecurity.
